About Our Club
In 2015 Kiwanis International
celebrated its 100th Anniversary with
over 8,400 active local clubs in 96
countries.
Hands-On Service
Planting trees, painting rooms at the Kiwanis Family
House, making dolls for the children’s ward at UCD
Med Center, feeding the homeless, cleaning creeks,
bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and helping the
students in our youth leadership programs at 8
different schools in the Sacramento area are some
of the ways our club stays in contact with the
community.
Kiwanis Family House
KFH is dedicated to providing temporary housing
for
families of seriously ill or injured patients being
treated at the UC Davis Medical Center or at
Shriners Hospital in Sacramento.
Our Foundation
The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Greater
Sacramento Kiwanis. All funds raised in the
community are directed to the Foundation, a 501 C
(3) charity.
Each year we raise funds in the community. Our
major fund raiser is our Crab Feed in February.
Other events include our Sept Speakeasy and
Spring bus trips.
Sponsored Leadership Program (SLP)
High school Key Clubs are sponsored by Kiwanis
clubs. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its
mission to serve the children of the world.
Members of Key Club perform acts of service in their
communities, such as cleaning up parks,
collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They
also learn leadership skills by running meetings,
planning projects and holding elected leadership
positions at the club, district and international levels.
Greater Sacramento Kiwanis is a part of the worldwide family of Kiwanis International,
Circle K International, Key Club International, Builders Club, K Kids, and Aktion Clubs
